Student travel abroad is one of the best ways to gain skills for your career and learn new things. By traveling abroad, you have the opportunity to make a difference and experience other cultures, all while visiting fun and exciting bucket list destinations!

Whether you want to bar crawl in Berlin or teach kids in Thailand, we have the perfect trip for you. No matter where you travel abroad, you’re sure to learn something—from a new trait about yourself to a fun fact about elephants!

Many people see travel as a way to see the world. While that is true, travel also lets you learn more about yourself and gain new skills. When you travel abroad as a student, you gain benefits like:

  • Valuable Career Skills
  • A Head Start On Travel
  • New Friends
  • Work Experience
  • Rewarding Volunteer Work
  • Cultural Awareness

At Further Travel, we’ve helped connect students to travel programs for over ten years. 83% of travelers said that educational trips were vital to their overall college education, so we’re here to connect you with student travel abroad programs.

We know how hard it can be to discover sustainable programs, organize an itinerary, and get friends together. We’re here to do the hard stuff for you, so you can focus on having the trip of a lifetime!

We’ll go over examples of benefits and the best student travel programs to gain them!

Earn Valuable Skills With Student Travel Abroad Programs

One benefit of student travel abroad is the skills you’ll earn. Whether you want to travel outside of school or student travel study abroad, the process of preparing to travel strengthens skills like adaptability and organization. Travel itself can include learning from new people and growing skills through volunteer work. You’ll earn these skills while traveling abroad:

  1. Cultural awareness: Traveling abroad increases cultural competence, because you’ll be immersed in other cultures and meet people different from yourself.
  2. Respect and open-mindedness: The amount of people you meet will make you more respectful of other cultures and open to learning more!
  3. Adaptability: Traveling is unpredictable, so your ability to adapt and be flexible will improve.
  4. Teamwork: 78% of employers look for a candidate’s ability to work on a team. Through our volunteer programs, work with others to complete rewarding projects and get to know how you fit within a team!
  5. Communication: Whether you’re teaching in schools or chatting with friends at the bar, you’ll gain confidence in your communication skills.
